The Healing Power of Laughter

The Healing Power of Laughter is a doorway to a happier life.

With all the crazy current events happening in the world today, including wars, cost of necessities going up, etc., let’s not forget about the power of laughter.

Life has become so serious and intense, we sometimes forget to see the humor in it all.  Why wait for “someday to look back and laugh?”  What about some relief from the stress and uncertainty right now?

It’s been said that laughter is one of the best medicines for us.  Laughter has a powerful affect to relieve stress, diffuse anger, decrease depression and boost our immunity systems.  It also has the ability to change our whole focus of life.  Laughter brings hope and a new fresh and light energy into the darkness.  Laughter can heal our mind, body and soul.  It’s one of the greatest gifts God has given us.

The Power of Laughter gives your mind a much needed break from the intensity of stressful events.  I’m sure many can remember a time when they were stranded out in the middle of nowhere with no glimmer of hope, like John Candy and Steve Martin in Planes, Trains and Automobiles.  Laughter… can save the day.  It gives you a chance to re-evaluate the circumstances and arrive at a fresh perspective or solution.

So, for goodness sakes, Start ROFLing = Rolling on the Floor Laughing LOL

Laughter is infectious.  Just watch Laurel and Hardy or The Three Stooges.  It’s amazing how laughter enages us.  It’s a human response and it helps to connect us all.

There is nothing like a good belly laugh.  It might even safe your life.  It certainly did for the writer Norman Cousins.  He was diagnosed with a life-threatening disease and when the modern medical establishment could no longer do anything for him he checked himself out of the hospital.  He then checked into a hotel and after several months of intensive comedy watching and laughing his ass off, Norman walked out of the hotel a healed man.

The Power of Laughter - I guess one could say laughing could add years to your life.  Norman lived 26 years more!  Make sure to check out some of these hilarious clips.  They are priceless!
